Svebor Vidmar rođen je 15. prosinca 1973. u Zagrebu. Od 1988. do 1992. pohađao je Školu primijenjene umjetnosti u Zagrebu, gdje je maturirao na slikarskom odjelu u klasi prof. Dušana Maleševića. Od 1992. do 1999. studirao je na Akademiji likovnih umjetnosti u Zagrebu, na nastavničkom odsjeku, slikarski smjer, u klasi prof. Miroslava Šuteja, gdje je i diplomirao. Dobitnik je Nagrade Zagrebačke banke za najbolji diplomski rad 1999. godine. Tijekom studija, 1997. godine, boravio je na stručnom usavršavanju u Kulturzentrumu BINZ 39 u Scuolu, Švicarska. Od 2001. do 2005. bio je član Hrvatske zajednice samostalnih umjetnika (HZSU). Od 2006. radio je kao viši stručni suradnik – voditelj Galerije Vladimir Filakovac, a od studenoga 2024. kao viši stručni suradnik za likovne programe u Centru kulture Dubrava (nekadašnjem Narodnom sveučilištu Dubrava). Godine 2018. dobio je Otkupnu nagradu Gradskog ureda za kulturu Grada Zagreba na Petom hrvatskom trijenalu crteža. Izlagao je na brojnim samostalnim i skupnim izložbama u zemlji i inozemstvu. Uz ilustraciju i fotografiju bavi se i pisanjem likovnih predgovora te priča za djecu i odrasle. Član je HDLU-a, ULUPUH-a, HDKDM-a i KERAMEIKON-a. Živi i radi u Zagrebu.
Svebor Vidmar was born on 15 December 1973 in Zagreb. From 1988 to 1992, he attended the School of Applied Arts in Zagreb, where he graduated from the Painting Department in the class of Professor Dušan Malešević. From 1992 to 1999, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, Teacher Training Programme, Painting Department, in the class of Professor Miroslav Šutej, where he earned his degree. In 1999, he received the Zagrebačka Bank Award for the best diploma thesis. During his studies, in 1997, he completed a period of professional training at Kulturzentrum BINZ 39 in Scuol, Switzerland. From 2001 to 2005, he was a member of the Croatian Freelance Artists’ Association (HZSU). Since 2006, he has worked as a Senior Professional Associate and Head of the Vladimir Filakovac Gallery, and since November 2024 as a Senior Professional Associate for Visual Arts Programmes at the Dubrava Cultural Centre (formerly the Dubrava People’s Open University). In 2018, he received the Acquisition Award of the City of Zagreb Office for Culture at the Fifth Croatian Drawing Triennial. He has exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Croatia and abroad. In addition to illustration and photography, he is also engaged in writing art prefaces as well as short stories for children and adults. He is a member of HDLU, ULUPUH, HDKDM and KERAMEIKON. He lives and works in Zagreb.
